In a groundbreaking move, Canada became the first industrialized country to legalize recreational cannabis use on October 17, 2018. Over a year has passed since this historic development, and it’s time to examine the lasting effects of legal cannabis on the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. Additionally, we will explore the changing regulatory landscape at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels, as well as the risks associated with the possession and use of cannabis in various contexts.
